I am new to the possibility of the dating world after being in a very long term relationship (14 years, no marriage). I am not even sure how to really even go on a date--so maybe I will hate it! But, it is time to put myself out there and explore this world--maybe with you! I have two kids and a full-time job and those two things are a priority in my life. I love to learn and plan on going back to school in the Spring for my second Masters. I like the way books look and smell. I love to do research on the internet. I like to nap, watch people and eavesdrop on their conversations, and I am a terrible backseat driver. I am also very aware of typos and bad punctuation usage and I try not to do them. I find the little squiggly line that Windows/the internet uses to tell me I have spelled a word incorrectly is a challenge for me and I normally just try to figure out the correct spelling on my own (I know. I am wild.). I am not always that great at that stuff, but I can spot it easily in other's writing. That makes me sound kind of weird, now that I am re-reading those sentences!
I don't go out much--typically not my thing. I am more likely to go to Barnes and Noble and look at books than go to a bar. I don't have a large social circle locally, but I am perfectly OK with being alone most of the time. What makes me laugh out loud? (I am reading their suggestions on what to write.) I kind of like a good dirty joke (I find myself saying "that's what she said" a lot), and someone who isn't afraid to laugh at them self.
I am looking for someone who is fairly settled in their life, who needs that extra something to make it complete. That extra something would be me, by the way. Someone who likes to eat out, doesn't smoke or do drugs, but doesn't mind having a drink once in a while--the notion of a social drinker is kind of annoying--I normally will drink only a few times a year. Social drinker to me sounds like someone who drinks more frequently than that. Someone who will watch all kinds of movies with me. I am looking for someone who is intelligent, quick-witted and clever. Someone with ambition and motivation (sometimes), but not overly ambitious and motivated--I need to have some fun. I guess mainly just someone with a goal or a dream that gets them up in the morning and keeps them hopeful and passionate.
