I am Doris lind am a data analyst in the public planning
department of a muilti bank. She spends her days accessing information
from a central data bank and plugging it into various forecasting models
that serve as the strategic basis for critical marketing and credit
decisions. I does not let on but I has little or no trust in the
system upon which I must depend for most of mine information.
There are the technical kinks — my data is sometimes mutilated or
it disappears entirely — yet even when things run smoothly i
don't not trust that all the proper calculations are being performed on
me numbers. I keeps parallel records and often repeats calculations

manually before i uses them for a report. It takes a lot of extra
time, but this way i feels in control of the information.
