Any Questions, anything you would like to know about my country, please post in here, I come from a city in the North of Scotland, called Inverness, not far from the famous Loch ness, where the legendry, Loch Ness monster is supposed to live, but anything about Scotland most welcome.......

Wow, thats great oral, thanks. Back about 35 years or so ago, our church pastor and his family did a swap with a pastor and family from Scotland. They exchanged residences, churches, congregations, everything for about 2 months. Then in my last year of high school, their oldest child came back and went to school with us as a foreign exchange student. Anything I may have learned back then, I have forgotten tho. Don't even remember where they lived.

Thaks likit, for sharing that with me, I remember about 2 years ago, i was talking to someone from, i think china, and when i told her i'm from Scotland, i got a big shock, she had never heard of Scotland, she had heard of the UK, but thought England was the UK, that pissed me off, i just thought it was ignorant, so I thought I would start this thread, make us stand out a little, lol;, I will add some music and photos a little later, and maybe i will get yummy to sing the Scottish national Anthem, she sung it to me last week, and did a great job, i was really proud.....

O flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
That stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

The Scottish flag is the cross of St. Andrew, also known as the Saltire. It is said to be one of the oldest national flags of any country, dating back at least to the 12th century. Blue background, white cross, going from corner to corner

There is a second flag which is associated with Scotland, the "Rampant Lion", or Royal Flag of Scotland. Although based on an older Scottish flag than the St. Andrew's Cross, it should, strictly speaking, now only be used by the monarch in relation to her capacity as Queen in Scotland¹. However, it is widely used as a second national flag. Yellow background, with red lion.
