Let's keep this friendly, and to start of this thread, one of my pet hates, is if England are playing in any sport, why do some English fans insist in flying the union jack which is the brittish flag, and is shared by all 4 British countries, we fly the Scottish flag if Scotland play, so do the irish fly the irish flag, and the welsh, their own flag, I would like an answer to this question, for my own sanity...lol..

or maybe all these foreign countries don't know which flag to fly

Yeah i know, i was just interested that's all, and when i saw a car going past, with the union jack, because of the England game last night, i decided to ask this question, for my own interest....

So have I. And yet our cricket team is called England, when it takes from all 4 home countries, and from Ireland too. What flag should we fly for them?

Incidentally, presumably if Murray performs like a drongo at Wimbledon and gets knocked out in the first round, he will be Scottish, whereas if he wins, he will be British!

Ya got it in a one...My argument was that if for example if Scotland, Ireland or Wales, as a seperate country, we fly our own flags, but in England, a lot of the English insist in flying the union jack, for example when the Olympics start, it should be the union jack, because we will all be one country then GB, but then why do some of the English fly the English Flag..LOL, when it's GB, i really have started a debate haven't I hahaha

Mmm, not really because you are right; at the Euros it should be the flag of St George. But equally, I do think all us Brits should support home countries ahead of others.

To answr your original point, my Welsh wife will support England at the Euros, and could even wave the Union Flag in support, but you try asking her to wave the red cross of St George at your peril!

lol, I will support England in the Euros, but keep that quiet, that aint bad coming from a Scot, but i will support ant british country, although, how long will it be for Scotland to break away, and become independant, they are already voting on it..UK then will only be 3 countries...lol

Ah, a closet nationalist! But they say any vote would be to stay within the UK

what if we do break away, does that mean i need a work Visa to work in England...LOL
