Across Australia at the moment, the Christmas beetles are out. Some are rather dull in appearance - looking rather brown - but some are iridescent gold with lots of rainbow colours

Does everyone in the world have Christmas Beetles
coming to their properties at this time of the year or only us in Australia?

Hi Yummy,

Yes, I've wondered that too but it's just a coincidence that the beetles come out at that time in summer here. Everywhere else on the otherside of the World it's winter, they just have cold and snow, and hibernate.
I was going to add an album of wildlife in my back yard, from beetles to Egrets, kookaburras, Water Dragons, Butterflies, moths, Rosellas, Rails, Pheasant Cockels etc etc..
Maybe NZ, Fiji and PNG have the beetles though.

Ohh yes, we also have ducks and turtles, spiders and snakes, frogs and toads, possums and storm birds...

But I love the beetles coming every year...Gotta keep saving them from the swimming pool though..

I think we have a similar beetle here altho it does not come out this time of year, it is a summer beetle.

Damn it was displayed - seem to stuff that up a bit - but ya know shit happens - and those beetle are little shits when they fly in ya drink and start doing the back stroke - What a waste of a good drink ..LoL..

nope, poor person here..Love the ocean..
We had a holiday house at a place called 'Manyana'on the South coast, usually go there every year still and always go past your place too *L*..
