It's almost that time again... here are a few ideas for the blokes ...
~ Weekend getaway
~ Flowers ~It doesn't have to be roses. If you know her favorite flower, that's all the better. Even if you can't afford a huge bouquet, a single red rose says it all.
~ Lingerie
~ Homemade Dinner ~ Treat her to something special by cooking dinner for her at home. A woman loves a man who can cook. You don't have to be a gourmet. Keep it simple with steak or pasta.
~ A Romantic Picnic ~ If you are meeting her for lunch on Valentine's Day, instead of taking her to your favorite restaurant, pack a picnic basket and head to the park.
~ A Day of Pampering ~ You don't need to send her off to a day at the spa for pampering. You can pamper her yourself. Draw a bubble bath and allow her to relax. You can wash her back or even her hair. After she comes out, give her a body massage with scented oils and finish it off by painting her toenails.
~ Feminine Fragrance ~ A classic perfume such as Chanel No. 5 or Shalimar by Guerlain is a feminine, romantic gift idea.
~ Candles ~ Put her in the mood with aromatherapy candles. The glow of candles is very romantic and the scent stimulates the olfactory senses adding pleasure and sensuality.
~ Breakfast in bed ~ It's a little cliche but every woman enjoys breakfast in bed. Allow her to sleep in and surprise her with a morning meal.
~ Right hand ring ~ If you have been married for years, let her know you'd marry her all over again with a right hand ring.
~ Book of Poetry ~ Give her a book of the love poems of Lord Byron or the sonnets of Shakespeare. Spend an evening reading to her aloud from the book.
~ Dinner at the Beach ~ Take her to nearest seaside restaurant for a romantic dinner under the moonlight, overlooking the water. If you don't live near the beach, dinner under the stars at the park is a nice choice.
~ Couple's Massage ~ Head to you local spa for a couple's massage. It's sexy, romantic and relaxing.
~ Second Honeymoon ~ Plan a special vacation just for the two of you. Get the honeymoon suite and make it second honeymoon to rekindle your romance.
~ Champagne ~ Splurge on a bottle of expensive champagne and spend the evening relaxing at home together, enjoying your bubbly along with decadent desserts.
~ A Day With You ~ If you oftentimes find yourself too busy with work, your kids and other obligations, on Valentine's Day, give her the gift of a full day with you. Get a sitter, turn off your mobile phone and enjoy each other's company.
~ A Love Letter ~ Probably the most romantic gift of all is a love letter. Make it mushy. Make it honest. Write it from your heart. If you have a hard time composing a letter - make it a list instead. List 50 reasons why you love her and leave it on her pillow or the bathroom mirror to surprise her.
And last but never least.... CHOCOLATE !
