horse I belong to an adaptive riding group(all have some form of disability and many are Vets) I dont have my own horse I have a loaner, he is an appalossa his name is Chief Joseph,I just call him Chief,I am in a wheelchair with the use of a walker,he kneels down and I get on and then gets up we have both quadrapligics and parapeligics also we have a rider who is blind his daughter rides with him
I'm sorry to hear about your disability. my best friend god rest his soul.he was a double amputee, and a lot of his so called friends stopped getting in touch or come to visit him .I was working away after he had the first amputee. but I would ring him in hospital every day.as soon as I was back in the country , I never even unpacked I went straight to London to see him.when he had the second amputee done that hit him really bad . but I would travel to London every other week , I would work 14 days straight so I could visit him for just under a week. I am crying while writing this.
I was taught by the nurse who came daily to change his dressings, once I was confident enough, I would take him on holiday abroad. it was good for his moral and it also gave his wife a well earned break. as she was still working full time.
anyway I don't look at people and think you are disabled, I look at the person who is in front of me.
one of his dieing wishes was to keep in touch with his wife a be there for her even though I live a couple of hundred miles away.and true to my word I visit his wife regular . she told me last time that her Will states that everything goes to me. I was flabbergasted and lost for word's. as I didn't do what I did for financial gain.to me that is what a true friend is .
sorry for waffling
