I do not drink. I need to be very sober to survive in a world that often treats neurological different people like me badly. Uniqueness should be treasured.
People often get drunk so they do not have to face the hard spiritual growth the need in order to get their life headed in a much more positive direction. Getting drunk helps them to escape reality and to ignore its difficult challenges.
